INTRODUCTION TO THE COMPANY

1969
Start of the hatching business on the Mésangère family farm by René and Gérard Bréheret. Production started with Barbary ducks to coincide with a rapidly increasing market.

1983
The company became a partnership limited by shares with the arrival of Gérard Lechat. Start of the Mulard production business using natural breeding techniques. Strong growth in the national market both for Barbary and Mulard ducks.

1991
The company changed its form and became a limited company called Bréheret-Lechat. The Mésangère 47 site set up with the takeover of Couvoir de Chabrol.

1993
The Mésangère hatchery employed 50 people.

1997
Bréheret-Lechat Ltd. changed its name and became Bréheret Ltd.

2002
The Mésangère 49 site hatchery increased to 2000m² so that now 1,750,000 eggs could be incubated.

2004
Acquisition of the Mésangère 32 site formerly called the Couvoir des Mousquetaires.

2005
The Mésangère 32 site incubation capacity increased to 400,000 eggs.

  • 150 employees
  • 30 partner breeders
  • 60,000 m² of buildings
  • 350,000 ducklings hatched each week
